Next-Gen Game Development

Having grown quickly into a multi-billion dollar industry, game development has become one of the most enticing and growing tech industries of our time. Top game studios are more often than not looking for new top talent to join their ranks and create the next great game for next-gen gaming consoles, portable gaming devices, smart phones, PC’s, and more. True success in game development requires a lot of skill, and there are unfortunately few places to get the knowledge and skills needed to progress into the game development industry.

Come join us for a workshop on game development, where we will show you how to integrate multiple environments and tools into a working mixed pipeline with 3dsMax, Maya, Softimage, ZBrush, and Unity3D.

Untiy3D is a professional real-time game engine that can power just about any type of game you can possibly imagine, including first person shooters, role playing games, 3rd person action games, multiplayer games, casual games, platformers, fighting games, sports, racing, real-time simulations, architectural walkthroughs, interactive product demonstrations, and much, much more. Want to create a first person shooter that you’ve had an idea for in your mind for a while now? Unity3D can do it. Want to create interactive architectural walkthroughs with high end graphics for a client, which will blow them away- and have them play it in real-time right off their web browser? Unity3D can do that too.

We will be demonstrating different aspects of game development that include everything from transferring data from DCC software into a game engine and we will be covering next-gen game development techniques, such as hi-res modeling, lightmapping, normal mapping, and more.

See how ZBrush, one of the industry standard hi-res modeling packages used for next-gen games on the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360, can be used to sculpt and create hi-res models and assets. Understand how and where ZBrush fits into the entire game development pipeline when working on next-gen games.

We will also be using the power of the mental ray renderer to create lightmaps that are used in game development to fake lighting, streamline and optimize performance, and achieve professional quality when creating assets for next-gen games.

Finally, we will demonstrate how to transfer all that data and assets into Unity3D to be used in a live interactive demo.
